BLITZKRIEG Pulls Out Of UK's EAST RIDING ROCK Festival

September 27, 2008

NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) legends BLITZKRIEG have cancelled their previously announced October 4 appearance at this year's East Riding Rock Festival at the Memorial Hall in Beverley, United Kingdom. According to the band, BLITZKRIEG vocalist Brian Ross is still recovering from a punctured lung and fractured ribs that he sustained during a recent trip to Greece. "With the extent of Brian's injuries, two weeks would not be sufficient recovery time," the group writes. "Brian and the band would like to apologize to everyone involved, to the organizers (who have been great and understanding about the situation) and also to the punters who were looking forward to seeing them live."

Upcoming BLITZKRIEG shows:

Nov. 30 - Crook Town F.C. - Crook, Northeast
Dec. 06 - Hard Rock Hell - Prestatyn, Wales

BLITZKRIEG's new album, "Theatre of the Damned", was released on August 10, 2007 via Germany's Armageddon Music. The CD was recorded at Absurd Studio in Hamburg with producer Schrödey and co-producer Biff Byford (SAXON). According to a posting on the Armageddon web site, "Theatre of the Damned" "offers the same authentic heavy metal of the '80s along with a super freshness and total attitude." Check out audio samples on the band's MySpace page.

"Theatre of the Damned" is the follow-up to "Sins and Greed", which was released in July 2005 via Metal Nation Records.
